Frontman John-Paul Hughes sums up the track by saying: "Higher is a good vibes thrill ride of tribal punk drums, swirling psychedelic guitars, and oscillating synths that build to euphoric choruses. It tells a story of yearning to escape your reality but shrugging it off to embrace the moment. It is the first Helicon recording with Declan Welsh in the band, on bass and backing vocals."
